Well I'm very excited to update you on several things. One is my SHINE event was a huge success - I have not before had the chance to deliver an event that truly took people on the journey from their soul to their business and beyond, and Shine was the event to do that. I held it at one of my favorite luxury hotels on the Las Vegas strip - the Venetian - where every room is a mini-suite! There was also plenty of shopping, restaurants, and spa experiences to be had. We got great feedback from our attendees on the location and venue. The energy of Las Vegas was just perfect to get all my ladies and gents excited to Shine.
The highlight for me during my events is always seeing the a-has happening during our days together. As I've coached and trained thousands of business owners over the last several years, I see a common problem is they try to make their business more complex - WAY more complex - than it has to be! For most it's *simple information* that truly causes their brains to short circuit for a bit and create that breakthrough moment. That's why I kept the content of Shine very simple, taking them through many different possibilities for their business, covering how their marketing should flow, and tying it to their personal values (which are different for everyone.)
I had so much content to deliver that I'll be following up with all attendees with a few teleseminars to wrap up the content and answer their additional questions as well!
Another big hit was our three celebrity guest speakers: Julie Clark, founder of Baby Einstein; Barbara Corcroan, real estate mogul and judge on ABC's hit show SharkTank, and Academy-Award winning actress Marlee Matlin. (I have to admit she was my favorite -- truly an inspirational woman of heart and soul.)
And now, my other big announcement... I'm engaged!
My boyfriend Dan popped the question the week right before Shine during a special rendezvous dinner in Laguna Beach. He's a true romantic, the best husband I could ask for, and a successful entrepreneur too - it's a perfect match! We'd only been dating about 5 months, but I've learned when you know, you KNOW. We are both very excited and will be planning a wedding for summer 2010. Thank you all for your congrats and good wishes! What a month it's been.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend Shine in Las Vegas this year. As a scholarship award recepient I'm more than a little grateful, thankful and inspired by the generosity and warmth.
